vowels and Consonants

the Moāri alphabet (arapū) is made up of eight consonants, five vowels and two digraphs. digraphs are two letters that combine to form one sound

Achievement Objects:

  • Identify the sound of the letter of Maori alphabet  (arapū), letters combinations, intonation and stress patterns.
  • recognise and understand simple, familiar spoken words, phrase and sentences.
