My recount on Sailing

My recount on Sailing: by Taniela

On the 13th of May 2021, the year 5s and 6s went sailing in Okahawa Bay!. we all had to group up in 3s I grouped up with Aniseko & Vili, us three had to construct/build a boat, without instructions but we got a hang with it and finished it, they then told us that the year 5s had to go first to sail and the year 6s had to go last.

2 hours later we finally got dressed to sail, the things we put on was

  •   Life jacket

  •   And swimming suit

Those are the most important things to use for sailing, and some togs. Me and Aniseko got on the same boat, Aniseko was the pilot/the person that turned the boat, and I was the person who controls the sail. It was so cool and terrifying, I was very scared I thought I was gonna die. I almost cried that day, but then it got way funner. Everyone raced and tried to get the most balls, after 3 hours we finally finished, we all changed and got on the bus and went home.

Glossary: This was my first ever experience going sailing, and it was fun, and I really do hope to go again, and thanks to St. John who paid for our sailing .

Here is a picture of us going sailing:

Graffiti page about sailing

today I have made a graffiti page about sailing, and all the key stuff we did at sailing.

What can you do better next time you are on a group project?

I can try to be a leader, and get all the resource that we will need  I will also try to do what the leader or someone in my whānau groups says to do.

What can your group do better to complete your work fast? Well we should have all the resources and everyone should have a job to do!, I also think we could do it in the morning if it is possible, and I hope everyone participates in the project, like everyone could say a part.

Tahuna Tōrea Mind flow

Today for inquiry we are learning about amazing plants. Our teacher Mrs.Nees got us to sit on the mat, she said "to close our eyes" so we did and then she told us "think about when we were on the bus going to Tahuna Torea" (I didn't know what was going? on but I did do it ) "and then think about when we got off and went to the side walk look right and look left what do you see", well I saw the sea the seas tide was very low, then she said " remember what your favourite place was" mine is Sand Dunes, then she said what I was wondering, and what stood out to me, and a moment of awe I had as well as my favourite thing about it.

WALT: allow our inner response to flow and be captured in words form

I think the meditation really helped me out, and what to do.

I think the hardest part was trying to stay in the place, because I kept on thinking Cal's Jr.
